There are exactly two MMORPGs that work for PPC Macs (that I know of). The graphics are modest, so it should work on a variety of older Macs. The community also appears to be small and tight knit. Best of all, it's free to play. Is one of the longest running MMORPGs on the Mac. I remember playing this thing on my Performa 460 in college.
Awesome stuff. It has a very strange kind of control system and very quirky world to explore. However, I was unable to get this to run on my G5, but others have had success.
There is a fee to buy the full client to play. Is such a blast of a game, one of the great classic strategy science fiction games that holds up after all these years. While there are not carbon versions of Warcraft II, Warcraft, or Diablo for our Macs, Blizzard was kind enough to put together a Carbon Installer that works great. You will need your Starcraft CD and/or Brood Wars CD to install. Incidentally, Blizzard released Starcraft for free recently, but it does not work on our PowerPC machines unfortunately.

Unveiled by Steve Jobs, the G5 replaced the aging Power Mac G4 and carried the banner for the ultra high-end Mac market until Apple released the Intel-based Mac Pro in 2006. At the time of its debut, Apple the G5 was the “world’s fastest personal computer,” a controversial statement that held up with mixed success in lab tests at the time of its release. But it was fast, no doubt, and capable: The high-end model shipped with dual 2GHz CPUs, and as Apple’s first 64-bit computer, the Power Mac G5 could utilize up to 8GB of RAM. To add extra oomph, each of the three introductory G5 models featured a front-side bus clocked at half the CPU clock rate, including an astoundingly speedy 1GHz FSB for the 2GHz model. Ten years of the same design in Apple-Land is pretty much unheard of. The design must have served Apple very well.
