Due to the nature of my work, I am often stuck waiting with nothing to do at the top of large towers. I am looking for something to play some old games on while up there. I really only have a few requests for the device.

• I need it to be small. My harness tool bags have room for my tools, that's it. I need the device to be small enough to slip in a pocket comfortably. Roughly the size of a 4.5in screen smartphone at most. • I need it to be cheap. Sometimes I'm hanging from the top of a tower 300ft up in the air. There is a chance I'm going to drop it or it might fall out of my pocket.

Needless to say, I don't want to have to worry about the price too much. Obviously I'll be as careful as I can be and won't get crazy with it up there, but I don't want it to be a huge deal if something does happen to it. • At the very least, I want SNES emulation. I want as many options as possible, so the more the better.

But I would really like to emulate all the gameboys, NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, and If possible N64. I've been looking at a used Xperia Play or a PSP go, but I would love opinions on these or other devices.

I would really appreciate any input that you guys would give me. Edit: so I don't want to spend a lot of money of a device that will probably get dropped a large distance, and someone has a problem with that and downvotes me? That sounds like reddit.

Problem is, even the lowest end devices that will do what you want (something like the Dingoo A320) will be above $80 in most cases, unless you can get a deal on something used. I generally don't recomment the PSP, but it's probably the only thing in your range. Alternately, you can get a cheap phone (like a LG Tribute 2 or Moto E) and a controller and it will come out below $80 and do everything you want (emulation up to PS1 and NDS), but then it's two pieces, and not an all-in-one handheld solution. DS Lite sounds like almost exactly what you want. I got mine used at a games shop for $30. With a r4i-sdhc card (~$25) and ezflash V (~$25) you get native GBA and DS, both of which have an excellent library.
