Why Dont I Get Sound With My Powerpoint Presentation For Mac 8,7/10 128 votes

Jul 28, 2015  Question: Q: MS PowerPoint for Mac - file open but not on display My MS PowerPoint for Mac file is open but doesn't show on my screen. I can see it in Mission Control and it shows up in SlideShow/Presenter mode with an LCD projector, but I can't move it.

I did a powerpoint presentation that was designed to have voice-overs recorded for each slide. Attempting to record my comments for each slide, I only wind up with some sort of demonic sounding deep noise.

Clearly my microphone is picking up my voice, but it isn't being processed correctly and played back intelligibly. What is the problem?? I have worked through the basic online FAQs about recording voice for a slide show, and haven't found anything helpful. Is there some sound processing incompatibility between the Microsoft (360) powerpoint program and my Mac (Air)'s sound configuration? I have no idea how to proceed. My laptop's microphone seems to be working normally, so I feel like there must be programs in conflict somewhere, but I don't know how to trouble-shoot it.

I get lots of Powerpoint presentations (with music) from my PC friends. If I play them on a pc, they play normalwith no problems but as soon as I try to play them on my iMac, first it gives me the 'can't find specified font' which I don't mind much. The big problem for me is when I play them and there's no music in the background (the presentations have music and as stated before, they play normal with sound on a pc). Just so you know, the music in the background is known music from knwon artists. Video beauty filter for mac. I am sure you know what i am talking about. I am not sure as to how to fix this problem. Thank you for any replies to my concern.

Without one of the presentations in question to look at it's hard to be sure, but the most likely explanation is that the sound file is in Windows Media Audio (.wma) or some other format that QuickTime (the underlying media playback technology in Mac OS X) doesn't natively support. Downloading the free Flip4Mac plug-in may help: Alternatively, Perian adds support for several obscure and niche codecs (amongst other things) that may also help: Both are worth having anyway, just to bolster QuickTime's flexibility and usefulness.
