Some information: I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro with 8gb or RAM and a 500gb SSD. I have a 1TB external hard drive as well, connected by USB 3.0. It's got the 2.6 GHz Intel i7 processor it came with of course.

I'm just looking for GREAT steam games to add that would run nicely on this machine. The games I already have: Left 4 Dead Left 4 Dead 2 Half Life: Source Amnesia: the Dark Descent Borderlands 2 Sanctum Lone survivor Team Fortress 2 LIMBO Garry's Mod Counter strike The Walking Dead season 1 Is there anything really good I can add? Should I add all my games to my external HDD? Or just leave them on the in-house SSD?

Overall, there's three options. The first is Boot Camp which is basically setting up a partition with Windows on it.

Apple supplies drivers so this option works and it's the fastest as you're running Windows natively. The second option is virtualization. Here, there's three choices: Virtualbox (which is available for free), VMWare, or Parallels. The paid options have different pros and cons between them. All require a Windows license. The advantage of this is that you don't need to reboot into Windows, just launch the app which will boot Windows inside of it.

The Steam Console Client or SteamCMD is a command-line version of the Steam client. Its primary use is to install and update various dedicated servers available on Steam using a command-line interface. Installing a Server. Install the app by using a Steam Application ID. To also validate the app add validate to the command. To participate in HLDS beta testing add -beta beta to the command. To participate in SRCDS beta testing add -beta prerelease to the command.

But, it isn't the best option for very graphics heavy games. The last option is something like Wine or the paid version, Crossover. This doesn't require Windows at all, but a lot of games don't work with it. Have you checked out 'Rogue Legacy'?

It throws you into an impossibly difficult, randomly generated castle. The catch is that the game let's you keep the money and equipment you managed to collect during your run. Once you've died (you will die a lot) you choose an heir to succeed you and he/she benefits from how well you did by being able to purchase upgrades for your equipment and classes. Plus the production value is ridiculous and it is hilarious, haha. My time stink at the moment, can't recommend it enough.

This may seem like a pretty subjective category, and I'd like to preface this list by saying that it most definitely is. That being said, there are some games that are just empirically good — great graphics, fun to play, great story, whatever. And though some folks might have you believe that Macs aren't meant for gaming, there are actually a ton of awesome titles to choose from. I'll try and leave out games that you can play on iPhone and iPad unless the Mac is the best place to play 'em. Here are the best games for Mac!
