How To Reformat Wd Passport To Apple Journeled For Mac
My external hard drive for my MAC (my passport essential 3200bmv) was stolen and later recovered by the police. The criminal erased all of my data and used it on his own computer for his files on a PC (which the police erased before giving it back to me). But now I'm not able to save any of my MAC files on it. I can read whats left on the drive as police only erased the criminals pics etc. It looks as though he might have reformatted it to work with his PC?? I've googled this and can't find answers to figure out how to fix this and format it back to accept my MAC files. Help please!!!

I just recently purchased the 1TB Passport and I am trying to reformat it for my MacBook. I initially attempted to perform the Erase through Disk Utility, by selecting ‘My Passport’, however ‘FAT32’ was not an option, I only had ‘MS-DOS (FAT)’, which did not work, and ‘ExFAT’, along with other ‘Mac OS Extended’ options. I also tried what was in another post listed here: Go to Disk Utility again, if the drive is seen click on the one that shows the capacity and the name of the drive, then instead of going to erase go to partition, on partition do this: • Volume Scheme - Select 1 Partition on the drop down menu • Rename the drive, delete untiltled 1 and use another name more confortable for you • Make sure on Format says Mac OS Extended (Journaled) • Click on Options > Select Apple Partition Map > click OK • Click Apply > click Partition This also did not work for me. Seems like JDeveloper doesn't work with macOS Sierra. I tried to reinstall, it didn't help. It just doesn't launch. Is there some walkaround to solve the problem? I tried also 12.2.1.0 version. The result is the same. Setting Java home in product.conf doesn't help also.
