I'm a Linux-only guy and a fighting game enthusiast. I'm mostly here just for this thread.

This means that either there is really little interest in fight games for Linux/PC/Mac, or the community has come to accept that developers aren't interested in making such games anymore. I hope @Cheogh is right about Skullgirls; that would bode well for Mane6, which is planning a Linux port of Them's Fightin' Herds. I'd love to be able to play both on my Linux box. I'd love to be able to play both on my Linux box. I mainly hate fighting games because fighting games hate me back X-) I really suck at them.

But hopefully the fighting genre gets more Linux ports, the more the better! If you're an RPG fan, basically the reverse of that has happened. The RPG genre has shown remarkably strong Linux support. RPG devs tend to be more Linux fans than Fighting game devs, maybe? I think that may be it - I think most Linux ports happen right now because the devs think it'd be cool to do - not because they'll make a ton of extra money doing it. I'd love to think there's more money in Linux ports, but I don't think Steam Machines (that don't immediately get Win 10 installed over SteamOS) are doing well, so probably not.
