Photoshop Cs3 For Mac 2008

I had a MACBook Pro with a full version of CS2 (not an upgrade from older version) and it was stolen. Of course I still have the software and such but no computer. I don't have the money to buy another MAC so I am useing a fairly new PC with XP on it. I do have Photoshop CS on it but to be honest I got it from someone else a while back. The CS2 MAC version however is legitimate and again it is the full version. I know of the mess one has to go through to get a license transferred from one platform to another. Haveing read of the process folks have to gone through I called Adobe about getting my CS2 changed over to PC.

During the conversation I mentioned that I plan to buy CS3 in the future. He pretty much stopped right there and just told me to buy the CS3 Windows upgrade software. He said when I install it I could at some point choose a 'cross platform' installation(or what ever he called it). He said at that point I could enter the lisence number from the MAC versoin CS2 and it would allow me to install the windows upfrade of CS3. After that he seemed done with me and ready to go but I wanted to be sure I understood him correctly and that he understood what I wanted to do. It just seemed to easy and I can not find where (by googleing that is) anyone else who did this. Has any one here tried this or know where I can find the documentation to prove it before I spend the money on somthing that can not be returned?

Thanks Jason. If you plan on only using the PC and plan not to rebuy a mac then doing what the Adobe folks said will be fine. In fact if the CS on the PC is a full working version, your software should think you are upgrading from CS to CS3. I am sure numbers will have to be typed in somwhere and hopefully authenication will be fine (if not Adobe has been fine to work with in sorting out these issues). I did do a cross platform upgrade and it worked fine, I only paid the upgrade cost. (also had to move from a Mac to a PC version and Adobe told me just what they told you). As I remember you are actually given permission to have the software on 2 computers (please correct me if in error) and I think the specifics are a desktop and a laptop (i.e.
