Hi Greg, You may want to try MagicPrefs, a free download that allows you to customize many aspects of the Magic Mouse. However, I'm not sure if that's going to help you too much with the scrolling speed problem. It will only provide workarounds to allow you to customize what area of your Magic Mouse you use for scrolling and how it works. You could also try disabling momentum scrolling (scrolling inertia) in the System Preferences. It's under Accessibility in OS 10.9, but it may be elsewhere in other OS versions. Try typing 'inertia' into the search box on the System Preferences pane to find the option, and deselect the scrolling inertia checkbox. This should help with the 'runaway mouse' effect that is unfortunately a troublesome matter in Excel.
